PIZZA 3D (2014)
Bollywood has been wearing the tag of remakes since a long time. The concept is, taking a hit south film and dressing it up with new eye candies and spicy scenes or hardcore actions, with a big star posing on the cover photo. The height is they don't even change the title of the movie. Pizza is a hit Tamil 2012 movie remake or rather say a retrace. This Hindi version of the remake is spiced up with 3D glasses. The trailers seemed quite scary and spooky, so, lets wear the glasses to find what is it all about?
Akshay Oberoi, a pizza delivery boy, who is married and is soon to be a father, worried about the future expenses, is asked to home deliver a pizza on one night. This is a mono line story that follows until, the pizza is delivered at the doorstep of that house from where the order is placed. From here the movie steps on to the Horror genre where your glasses play an important role to spook you and scare the shit out of you. The plot keeps you intrigued with completely tangled scenes stuffed with horror scenes. Okay so, the first half keeps you engaged with what is happening, but soon your mind starts to push the question Why is this happening? To which we are introduced to the post interval part, which starts to downhill the impression yet created. Instead of ending the complexity and bringing some conclusions, they fix to escalating the complexity and suddenly end up with a complete opposite conclusion, the conclusion that you could have never anticipated. Everything has a limit, the intriguing plot starts to downhill your interest. Yet the plot succeeds in keeping you tied to your seats till the end. The conclusion fails to fill your hunger, and thus spoils your taste.
Spoiler alert!! (Skip this paragraph)
Since, the story at the end sinks down with a brilliant suspense and the trauma's that you had been visualizing ends up in a plotted plan. This will leave you spellbound and thus you'll surely rush back home to enjoy Pizza 2012 Tamil movie with a crispy Pizza.
Now, the movie could have been the more interesting and surprising if the promotion team had decided to keep the trailers simple without revealing the horror part and keeping it a simple struggling life story with a suspense hanging at the end of the trailer. But, the horror part sure does drag an ample amount of watchers to the screens, so this might be the reason behind promoting the horror side. But even the horror scenes are heavily borrowed from the legend Hollywood horror flicks. When they promoted horror, at least they should deliver the quality accordingly, but it fails to shoot that level of scary threshold.
Final word: Order at your own risk, maybe this pizza will change your mind. Horror fans get ready to open the doors for the deliveryman. But you surely will realize this pizza lacked in taste.
My rating: 6/10
